Role & Responsibilities
As Head of Lab Operations, you will:
Oversee daily operations of Exin’s wet lab facility, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe workflows.
Establish and maintain lab infrastructure: ordering, inventory management, equipment maintenance, biosafety compliance.
Conducting and supporting research operations (behavioral neuroscience, electrophysiology, imaging), including coordination of animal care and experimental scheduling.
Work closely with scientists and founders to enable rapid and reliable data generation.
Manage vendors and procurement.
Train and support lab staff in best practices for safety, record-keeping, and experimental procedures.
Implement and oversee protocols for regulatory compliance (biosafety, animal welfare, chemical handling).
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in neuroscience, biology, biomedical sciences, or related field.
Familiarity with basic techniques in molecular biology (PCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, histology)
2+ years of hands-on wet lab experience, ideally including mouse/rat models.
Experience with lab management, operations, or facility setup.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with health & safety, biosafety, and animal facility regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership background.
Excellent communication skills in English
Preferred:
Experience in neuroscience labs (e.g., electrophysiology, behavior, imaging, molecular biology).
Basic programming experience in Python
Previous involvement in establishing new facilities or scaling lab operations.

Perform rodent survival surgeries with aseptic technique and oversee perioperative care.

Qualifications

Integrate off-the-shelf systems with custom modifications (e.g., cameras, sensors, microcontrollers).
Maintain and troubleshoot lab hardware to ensure smooth experimental workflows.
Collaborate closely with neuroscientists to translate research needs into functional, reliable setups.
Document builds, maintain CAD files and wiring diagrams, and train lab members in safe/effective use of rigs.
Stay on top of new tools and technologies to enhance experimental efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or related).
Hands-on experience designing and building hardware for research or industrial applications.
Programming experience in C++ (e.g. Arduino), Python, or MATLAB for device control and data acquisition.
Strong skills in CAD (e.g., Blender, SolidWorks), prototyping and experience with electronics, microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), and sensors.
Comfortable with basic machining and 3D printing.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Lab technician, you’ll be the backbone of day-to-day animal care and lab operations. You will:
Perform daily husbandry for mice/rats: cage changes, feeding/watering, enrichment, health/wellness checks, and room sanitation according to approved procedures.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked vivarium and lab: autoclave/sterilize cages and tools, manage waste streams, track inventory of chow, bedding, PPE, and supplies.
Support colony management: sexing, weaning, basic ID, and accurate electronic record-keeping; coordinate with scientists on schedules and counts.
Receive and acclimate animal shipments; monitor room environmental parameters (temp, humidity, light cycles) and report issues promptly.
Assist research days logistically (animal transfers, weighing, basic handling) while ensuring welfare and compliance; no survival surgeries.
Keep lab spaces running: restock consumables, run glasswash/autoclave cycles, calibrate basic equipment, and help with simple solution preps.
Document everything with rigor (daily logs, health notes, checklists) and support biosafety/animal-welfare compliance.
Participate in early-morning/rotating weekend/holiday duties.
Qualifications
Required:
HS diploma with 1–2 years in an animal facility or BS in a life-science field.
Comfort working with mice/rats and a compassionate, welfare-first mindset.
Familiarity with standard husbandry, sanitation, and PPE/biosafety practices.
Excellent organization and record-keeping; basic computer skills (Google Sheets/Docs).
Ability to lift ~10-20 kg, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks reliably.
Willingness to work early shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred:
AALAS ALAT (or equivalent) and experience in AAALAC/IACUC-governed facilities.
Experience with colony workflows (breeding schedules, weaning/sexing, inventory).
